Quiksilver Revolution Tour 2.0

(Friday 21st December 2007 - Quiksilver, Bali, Indonesia): Quiksilver, the world’s leading outdoor lifestyle company is proud to announce the second annual Quiksilver Revolution 2.0; a surf, skate and music extravaganza to be held at Sunway Lagoon, Saturday January 26, 2008!

Following the immense success of last years event, Quiksilver will again bring together a selection of the world’s best surfers and skaters, teamed with cutting-edge bands, at one of the world’s most unique entertainment venues.

While the athletes will demonstrate the skills that have seen them recognized worldwide, the Quiksilver Revolution 2.0 is totally unique in its participation focus and it will give all in attendance an authentic insight into the boardriding lifestyle.

Pushing the evolution of the event concept, 2008 will see Quiksilver challenging the definitions of event participation through the use of new media platforms including a dedicated event website allowing users to post clips and photos, interact online and vote on the outcomes of the event as well as watch the whole show live on www.quiksilver.com/revolution2

Sunway Lagoon is already the largest man-made surf beach in the world and a massive skate park will be added especially for the event.

The Sunway Lagoon venue will also be open for use by the general public to take part in workshops and sessions with the teamriders.

Quiksilver South-East Asia CEO, Greg Hinchliffe said: “With Quiksilver’s roots in boardriding, we aim to promote these healthy and fun lifestyle activities. The Quiksilver Revolution 2.0 is the perfect opportunity to provide an authentic experience and introduction to boardriding across the South-East Asian region.”

At a huge 18,000 square feet (1,672 square metres), the surf pool at Sunway Lagoon is capable of churning out perfectly shaped waves. Some of the world’s greatest surfers, including aerial specialist Ry Craike, will go head-to-head in the pool after being whipped into waves with the aid of 1200cc jetskis.   The Quiksilver Revolution 2.0 will see the construction of a custom skate park including a special vert ramp imported from Australia, measuring 14.5 feet (4.42m) high and 40 feet (12.19m) wide, and a mini ramp constructed by Australian Ramp Design especially for the event.

The Quiksilver Revolution Tour represents a new and innovative way to introduce and develop the boardriding lifestyle via two of the world’s most enjoyable outdoor sports, surfing and skateboarding, to an emerging youth market.
